Main Display
The focal point of PinPointGPS is the information shown on the main screen.
Most of the time, you will only need to click a button to move from hole to hole and PinPointGPS will tell you all you need to know about the next shot.
From here, it is possible to set up all the information that you need to use PinPointGPS. You can change the display to show Waypoints (described below), and measure how far you hit each shot (see "Measuring a Shot").
Display Waypoints/Hole Details
The bottom section of the main display can show either the details of the hole that you are playing or the Waypoints on that hole. Toggle from one to the other from the main menu option or use the shortcut key (Space).
Measuring a Shot
If you want to measure how far you hit the ball, select “Mark position” from the main menu (or use one of the short-cut keys – Enter or “M”) at the location from where you have just played your shot. PinPointGPS will then show you how far you are from that point as you walk towards your ball. Selecting this option again will switch the display off and then reset the counter.
Moving to Another Hole
There are actually several ways to select the hole that you want to use. From the main menu select “Next Hole” or “Previous Hole” and the display will change accordingly. You will note that there is a short-cut key (+ or -) which might make it a little easier. If your device has a trackball, you can scroll from side to side and also change the current hole.
Finally, you can type the number required straight in and go immediately to a particular hole. On most keyboards that will require a shift key to be pressed first. On holes with two numbers (10, 11, 12 etc.), the second number must be pressed within a short period of time.
